I literally have no energy to write right now because I’m so nervous – KF is typing something to send me. I have a feeling that’s going to be full of sadness and anger because I was so wrong in this argument and I never actually said sorry. But he is taking forever… so, I’m gonna try to finish today’s recap.
First of all, very dense and informative day of training. We worked on VLOOKUP, writing emails, sorting emails, getting informal feedback, and taking meeting minutes. Here are some important notes I took for myself:
- Paying attention to detail is very much needed
- Don’t take feedback personally
- Always try to take notes in the meeting, regardless of being told or not
- Set up informal touchpoints, ask for just-in-time feedback (at the end, 3 pieces of feedback are required)
- Most of the time you address the person by their first name.
- Be proactive – don’t be a task-taker!
Might as well – notes from yesterday:
- One EY mindset
- 90% of what we need starts from a Google search. On top of that, there are client’s website, Discover, and Company InfoGator to look into
- Be on time
- I’m considered a full-time employee for this internship
- PPMD: Partner, Principal, Managing Director
After my work hours, I went to Newport to hangout with SS. While waiting for her, I found this dog park right next to Newport Green park and I stayed there for a looooong time to pet the dogs. I saw a 3-year-old black Shiba Inu, just like the key chain that KF got me, name Sake (i think). I also talked to one of the dog owners and found out that he adopted his dog from Mississippi while volunteering in a shelter and now is working in EY (in Tech Consulting, Cyber Security). Like… what are the chances!!!!!!
Dinner – super delicious Chinese food @ Chef Tan (558 Washington Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07310). I highly recommend pumpkin soup with beef and vermicelli and eggplant with garlic sauce. Also, I got a lot of tea from SS but I will not spill any of them here though. Always fun and chatty time with SS and I’m so glad that we’re living somewhat close to each other now.
Oh also, I finished up the rest of this blog on Sat, June 11 because I paused to read KF’s message to me. I did apologize about everything and truly felt sorry about it, so KF understood and did say good morning to me the day after.
