Today I went into the office, hoping that my buddy L would be able to make it and hang out with me, but she was having issues with her laptop, so she decided to stay at home. That’s okay though, I sat with MO @ his usual spot – overlooking the waterfront walkway. He announced that he was thinking of doing the Hoboken 5k run on July 12 and EY has a team. So I said hey maybe I could do that too – that sounds super fun! So I guess I should sign up soon, before the price increases, and accept the fact that I will only have less than $100 in my bank account. I mean my intern salary is coming soon, but if I want to save 30% of my income like I have always been doing and still live lavishly, I seriously need to earn more -_-.
Then for dinner, I ate @ San Marzano (117 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10003) with the Sg girls and PT. Their pasta is very cheap, only around $12, and they have both indoor and outdoor sittings. We picked outdoor and it was a huge mistake because I got bitten by invisible bugs and it started raining the moment Kathryn got her food! Wow, that ruined the entire experience. But they had excellent service – they charged my dead phone at the bar and let us pull in chairs that literally blocked the walkway.
I also want to put this down for the record that today was a historic day as Supreme Court overturns Roe vs. Wade abortion ruling. That means they decided that the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion and states are free to ban abortion for whatsoever reasons. 22 states already have laws that could ban all or most abortion. Guttmacher institute classifies those states into pre-Roe bans, post-Roe bans, and trigger laws. South Dakota, Kentucky, and Louisiana bans will take effect immediately after the decision is made. I watched John Oliver’s LastWeekTonight on Abortion before falling asleep. Just think that is law is absolutely ridiculous.
