[2022/05/25] PHISIM Scholarship Day

It was my honor and pleasure to be a PHISIM Scholarship recipient. I actually got this great news in May already, but today I officially received the awards at Philadelphia Technology Leadership Summit. If I could describe the whole experience in three words, they would be awkward, professional, and heartwarming. Awkward because it’s been a while since I last had a professional networking event and I felt super out of place there. Yet, it was heartwarming because C, a very kind woman whom I never met, helped me break the ice by introducing me to Prof E who is an adjunct professor at Villanova, and also because KF and Dr. QC came to support me. Then it was professional since I got to meet and chat with other PHISIM scholars and talked to managers and C-suit people of small to big companies. I wasn’t trying to score a job or stand out in the crowd – I just wanted to know more about my options after I earn my degree and learn about how important people can both operate huge companies and have time for their families.

I am so thankful and proud for receiving this award. It’s a major sign telling me that I’m on the right track 🙂
